This safari is featuring Amboseli National park, Kenya’s second most popular national park after Maasai Mara. The park that is famous for its large herds of elephant, other game and great scenic beauty, whose entire landscape is dominated by Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain. After Amboseli the safari proceeds to Rift valley region where Lake Nakuru is situated the birdwatchers delight before going to Kenya’s most popular park, Maasai Mara Game reserve. Masai Mara offers best game viewing opportunities through the year thanks to its abundant resident wildlife including the Big5 (Leopard, buffalo, black Rhino, Elephant and Loins) and other game.

Day 1: Nairobi -Amboseli:

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south through Masai territory to Amboseli Game Reserve, arriving in time of lunch. Afternoon game drive beneath the snow capped peak of Mt Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or Kibo safari camp.

This small park (at 392 sq km) is the second most popular park in Kenya after Masai Mara, mainly due to the spectacular backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the southern boundary.

Day 2: Amboseli:

Day spent game viewing through morning and afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli serene Lodge or Kibo safari camp.

Day 3: Amboseli, Rift Valley and Nakuru

After breakfast we drive via Nairobi towards the escarpment (stopping to enjoy the stunning views of the rift valley) and down the floor of the Great Rift Valley to lake Nakuru park.  Spend the afternoon viewing game such as; warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, lion, reedbucks, the occasional leopard, White and black rhinos. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. Dinner and overnight at a lake Nakuru Sarova lion hill lodge or flamingo hill camp

Day 4: Nakuru to Masai Mara:

Depart to the Kenya’s most famous park- Masai Mara Game Reserve after an early breakfast. Arriving n time for lunch and afternoon game viewing in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at Sekenani camp or Mara Serena lodge.

Day 5:  Masai Mara:

Full day experiencing the Masai Mara game through morning and afternoon game drives.  The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topi, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra.  From mid July to early October, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas. All meals and overnight at Sekenani camp or Mara Serena lodge.

Optional balloon ride, horseback riding and/or Masai village visit

 

Day6: Masai Mara back to Nairobi:

Morning game drive, breakfast then drive back to Nairobi.
