This 8-day tour takes you through some of Kenya’s most beautiful and diverse landscapes. The journey begins with a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park, where you will hike through dramatic scenery and unique rock formations.
Following that, you will visit Lake Baringo, one of the few freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley, where you will have the opportunity to see a variety of bird species and interact with the local Njemps tribe. The journey then continues to Nakuru, which is famous for its flamingos and offers the opportunity to see endangered black and white rhinos.
Then you’ll go to Kakamega Forest, one of Kenya’s last remaining rainforests, to see the unique biodiversity and interact with the local Luhya community. Finally, the tour concludes with a visit to the Masai Mara Reserve, where you will witness the great wildebeest migration and interact with a variety of wildlife species.
Throughout the adventure, you will have the opportunity to learn about the rich culture and traditions of the local communities, as well as see stunning landscapes and wildlife.

Day 1: Nairobi- Hells Gate National Park Safari (Cycling)
Depart Nairobi in the morning towards the escarpment (stopping to enjoy views of the rift valley) and down the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Hells gate national park to cycle around the park. Overnight at a crater tented camp.
Day 2 Naivasha [boat & crescent island]- Nakuru
Morning boat excursion at Lake Naivasha to access Crescent Island for a two hours guided nature walk among giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, impalas and countless bird species. Later connect to our vehicle for a visit to Lake Nakuru national park. Afternoon game drive and bird watching. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp.
Day 3 Lake Nakuru national park – Lake Baringo
Early morning game drive at Lake Nakuru national park before driving Lake Baringo, a world-famous bird spot.
Evening relaxed short walks around the shores of the lake for bird viewing. Expect to see monitor lizards as well. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.
Day 4: Lake Baringo via Kerio valley to Kakamega Forest
We are woken by beautiful sounds, breakfast followed by a boat ride in search of birds, hippos and crocodiles. Later drive via spectacular to Kakamega forest. Dinner and overnight Rondo Retreat Centre.
Day 5 Kakamega Forest
Full day exploring Kakamega rain forest on foot with a local guide from the area. Kakamega is renowned for its birdlife – 330 species have been recorded, primates which includes red tailed monkey, De Barazza monkey, blue monkey and the white tailed Colobus monkey. Kakamega also have a large number of wild flowers that supports over 400 spices of Butterflies. Dinner and overnight again at Rondo Retreat Centre
Day 6 Kakamega – Maasai Mara
Depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve after an early breakfast. Lunch will be served enroute. We view game as we drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 7 Masai Mara
Day spent experiencing the Mara magic – Kenya’s premier reserve famed for its astounding concentration of game through morning and afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at a camp/lodge.
Alternatively spend the entire day on a game drive (with packed lunches) returning to the camp in the early evening hours.
Optional balloon ride and/or Masai village visit
Day 8 Maasai Mara back to Nairobi
Morning game drive, breakfast then drive back to Nairobi to arrive in the late afternoon.
